More than 20 artists, hobbyist and businesses were featured in Aman Hill Shopping Centre’s first ever Anime Fest.
The two-day event that began on Saturday showcased not only toys and figures, but also local artistic talents selling their artwork and handicrafts.
Aman Hills Shopping Centre through its social media also encouraged visitors to cosplay as their favourite anime characters to further enliven the event.
The term “anime” refers to a sub-culture originating from Japan involving interest and passion towards popular mass-produced animation.
The sub-culture has been gaining traction among adults globally over the past few years mostly due its vast online presence and supportive fans.
Similar events are regularly held overseas, with one of the largest and latest being the three-day Anime Festival Asia (AFA) held in Singapore last month.
The event is ongoing and will last until today. Members of the public are welcomed to visit the event at Level 2 of the Aman Hills Shopping Centre from 10 AM to 10 PM.
