Local online food delivery service GoMamam has clocked in more than 100,000 registered users on its platform. Buoyed by its latest achievement, the company is looking to expand its portfolio to include local retail brands as well as introduce a fresh upgrade for its customers soon.
In an interview with MediaStar, GoMamam CEO Hadi Wahab said that GoMamam aspires to fashion its growth and direction based on renowned international online food delivery services including Grab, foodpanda and Gojek.
“They are our benchmarks and I believe that this is the natural progression that GoMamam is heading towards. Though we are known as a food delivery service, to progress, we cannot limit ourselves to anything or any one product,” he said

According to the CEO, GoMamam will launch a new module GoRetail into the platform, alongside its other existing modules that include GoCeries, introduced in 2020 and GoElectronics, which was introduced last year.
“The idea is to pull in trusted local brands that feature modest fashion, fashion accessories and even textiles. By onboarding with us, these brands can widen their reach through our network of dispatchers,” he explained.
“Furthermore, these vendors will have the added benefit of free marketing from GoMamam via our social media and push notifications. The ultimate goal is to have everything under one roof, for the convenience of Bruneians,” he added.

In regards to the new GoMamam mobile application upgrade, Hadi shared that the ‘GoMamam 2.0’ will have a user interface update that is said to make “the customer experience seamless’ adding that the upgrade will provide customers with “ease of access and efficiency”.
“It will also have better mapping and will make ordering and reordering easier, there are just plenty of little intuitive things that will help make the whole GoMamam process and experience easier,” he continued.

The GoMamam 2.0 upgrade is slated for early 2023, said Hadi, who went on to express hopes that the upcoming expansion will translate to more users.
He then shared that since beginning operations in March of 2019, the GoMamam mobile application has almost reached 100,000 downloads for Android and Apple, 100,000 registered users (app and web-based) with orders averaging about 900 to a thousand daily.
Boasting more than 40 employees and a network of about a thousand disptachers currently, the CEO said that the platform has only grown from strength to strength only experiencing a significant dip last December.

He attributed this to the rising number of Bruneians going abroad for the school holidays, an interesting recent trend for the company’s numbers that he noted, as daily average orders seemed to remain consistent throughout the pandemic until the country’s borders were reopened.
“The peak number of daily orders were 850, not much of a decrease, but as a company in tech, whatever we do, we are informed by data and trends, so even before the borders were opened, we made contingency plans to offset any anticipated drop offs in users,” he said.
“I believe our expanded portfolios helped us in maintaining relevancy. We launched GoCeries, GoElectronics and soon GoRetail, not only to expand our revenue streams but to also essentially provide more products for our customers and therefore provide more convenience,” he added.
