The BIMP-EAGA Business Council of Brunei Darussalam (BEBC Brunei) is actively promoting the sub-region and its economic potentials to its local counterparts here in the sultanate.
Within the past few weeks, the council has met with some of the renown associations and companies in Brunei Darussalam to talk about the economic opportunities within the BIMP-EAGA network.
These entities include Darussalam Enterprise (DARe), the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPPMB), the Muara Port Company (MPC) as well as the respective diplomatic missions of Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
The council also took its chance to speak about its upcoming event, the BIMP-EAGA B2B Expo 2023, which is a product of the agreement to establish a North West Economic Corridor, which signatories include Brunei Darussalam, Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan, Palawan, BARMM, and Zamboanga.
The North West Economic Corridor entailed the pledge where the private sectors of each BIMP-EAGA members are to lead the post-pandemic recovery in Trade, Tourism and Investment (TTI).
The upcoming Expo and the focus on the media to connect entrepreneurs from across the region are part of the mechanisms to uphold the agreement.
