In promoting the agenda for BEV2025, the BDBEBC recognised that we must also ensure that this is aligned with the current development plans of the country. In BD we have formulated a long-term plan, The Brunei Vision 2035 (BV2035), with 3 aspirations:
• We aspire for Brunei Darussalam to be known as a country with a well educated,highly skilled and accomplished people as measured by the highest international standards
(Goal 1);
• Enjoying a high quality of life among the top 10 countries in the world (Goal 2); and
• Having a dynamic and resilient economy which is ranked among the world’s top 10 countries in terms of per capita income (Goal 3)
To achieve the vision, the government has continued with implementation of programmes and projects under the 5-year National Development Plans (or RKN). Currently, we are under RKN11 (2018-2023) aiming for 12 national outcomes, summarised as follows:
Goal 1: (i) First Class Education (ii) Equal Educational Opportunities & (iii) HRD that meet the needs of the economy.
Goal 2: (iv) High Standard of Living (v) Upholding Sovereignty & Stability (vi) Sustainable Environment (vii) A Resilient & Cohesive Society (viii) World Class Health & Safety in the Workplace.
Goal 3: (ix) High & Sustainable Economic Growth (x) Economic Diversification (xi) Low Unemployment & (xii) Macroeconomic Stability
