30th October 2024, Mobilityone (B) Sdn Bhd (M1B), subsidiary company of Mobilityone Sdn Bhd based in Kuala Lumpur has officially opened its new office for business at Annajat Complex, Kampong Mata-Mata, Mukim Gadong, Brunei Darussalam. This event marked another milestone being the first non-bank, non-telco payment service provider approved by BDCB.
In April 2024, Mobilityone received its approval cum License from Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) to operate electronic payment services, merchant acquiring services and account services. Electronic or Digital payments ensure convenience and efficiency in making transactions.
Users of electronic money or e-money are spared from the burden of having to bring physical cash all the time and save their valuable time from queueing at payment counters to manage bills. People who usually carry cash on hand are vulnerable to misplacing them or can become victim to theft. These risks are reduced with electronic money.
With digital technology, payment transactions are easily recorded and transfer of funds is made available to almost everyone, with or without existing bank account.
Present during the opening ceremony were Mobilityone’s premier partners and potential partners, supporting digital transformation in Brunei.
Haji Zaim Dato Paduka Hj Sabtu, Managing Director of Mobilityone Brunei announced the nearing collaboration with National Digital Payment System to comply with the national QR Code standard mandate from BDCB.
Meanwhile, Mobilityone is now accepting new merchants or retailers to cater to the niche market – the students, foreign workers and tourist alike.
