A business group led by Azhar Othman who is the Chairman of BIMP-EAGA Business Council (BEBC), Labuan made a brief trip to Bandar Seri Begawan to promote Labuan tourism. Azhar who is also the Chairman of LDA Labuan (Holdings) Sdn. Bhd. lLDAH) led the delegation which also comprises of the company’s CEO, Noor Halim Datuk Zaini and its Board Member, Sophian Said.
LDAH Labuan (Holdings) Travel & Tour Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of LDAH is offering golf packages to Bruneians that include golfing at Labuan Golf Club and Labuan International Golf Club and accommodation at one of three hotels which are Tiara Labuan Hotel, Melati Inn and Desa Tunas Hijau.
While in the city, they made a courtesy call on the Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysian High Commission, Nur Ezira Mahadi, where they discussed on ways to promote Malaysia and Labuan to Bruneians. They also made a stop at Tourism Malaysia office in Gadong and met officers of several travel agencies for collaboration. In the evening, they were feted to a dinner by the Executive Committee members of BEBC Brunei led by its Chairman, Pg Dr Haris Pg Haji Duraman.
According to Azhar, Labuan has many tourist attractions including duty-free shopping, historical sites, wreck diving sites, golf courses, and beautiful sunset, among others. He added that the company will be introducing more packages in the weeks to come not only for local Bruneians but also their large expatriate community as well as foreign tourists arriving in Brunei. The favorable exchange rate would make a visit to Labuan worthwhile and enjoyable.
“It has been a highly successful trip and we also look forward to a closer rapport with the business community in Brunei to trade with our businessmen and bring investment into Labuan,” said Azhar.
