Pengiran Haji Haris Pengiran Haji Duraman, the chairman of BIMP-EAGA Business Council (BEBC) and BEBC Brunei, has been awarded Professional Doctorate in Global Leadership and Management by European International University.
The conferment which was held in Dubai on 30 June 2023 granted to the chairman for his hardwork and commitment to promoting BEBC regionally and internationally, as well as his contributions in the areas of social, economic and corporate.
The Professional Doctorate Award is one of the highest levels of recognition at the European International University (EIU-Paris). It is a vocational-based terminal award, conferred by EIU-Paris to selected and high-profile candidates.
Pengiran Haji Haris was appointed as Chairman of BEBC Brunei by Ministry of Finance and Economy on 9 March 2021 with the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, who is also the Minister of Finance and Economy.
BEBC Brunei Darussalam is currently the Chair, representing all four BEBC member countries for a three-year term, said BEBC in a statement.
Pengiran Haji Haris is a distinguished leader in Brunei’s corporate world, known for his contribution to nation-building activities, particularly in commerce and industry, and his active participation in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
He is recognised as a prominent local leader in poultry farming and has one of the largest poultry farms in the sultanate. His dedication to the country has been acknowledged with the Pingat Kerja Baik (Medal for Service to the State) award from His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The special honour to Pengiran Haji Haris not only recognises the significant contributions to the development and promotion of the BEBC internationally but also enhances the reputation and credibility of the council and its mission to drive private sector growth and sub-regional development in BIMP-EAGA.
This award is a significant milestone that highlights the BEBC as a key player in the BIMP-EAGA and emphasises its mandate to promote trade, tourism and investment in the region.
