The BIMP-EAGA Business Council (BEBC) of Brunei Darussalam organized a visit for the international BEBC delegation members from the Philippines and Malaysia to visit the Muara Port Company. The delegation was led by the BEBC Chairman, Pengiran Haris bin Pengiran Duraman.
On hand to receive the delegation on behalf of the Muara Port Company was the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Zeng Caili and also its Chief Operations Officer Mr Mohd Fazilah Yassin. A presentation on Muara Port Company and its services was conducted by its Marketing and Business Development Manager, Mr Kevin Yang.
Muara Port Company is the largest seaport in Brunei Darussalam and is a joint venture company of Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd and Beibu Gulf Holding (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. Over the years, the port has contributed to the development of the Brunei Indonesia Malaysia Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area. Through this visit, the BIMP-EAGA Business Council hopes to explore further opportunities on promoting and enhancing collaboration within the region in partnership with other stakeholders including port operators and traders from Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
The delegation was also brought on a tour of the Muara Port Company facility as well as to the Muara International Landing Sdn. Bhd. Office.
In the evening, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, Her Excellency Marian Joeclyn R. Tirol-Ignacio hosted a welcome dinner for the Philippines BEBC delegation at the Embassy of the Republic of Philippines in Jalan Kebangsaan. Also in attendance was BEBC Brunei Darussalam members and Cipriano DC Barroma, Country Director of BEBC Palawan.
