A hyperlocal convenience store chain Singgah Sdn Bhd recently opened its third on-the-go outlet at the Roxana Shell Service Station Seria, hoping to bring product lines that are more tailored to the needs of the community in the Belait district.
The third store was a follow-up to its two other branches; opened at the PGGMB Building in January 2022, and in Kg Buang Sakar Riverine Station in December last year.
Launching the latest outlet was the Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Haji Matsatejo Sokiaw.
Singgah’s Operation Manager Arinah Ramle shared that besides providing a retailing service that are tailored to the community needs, the company also strove to help local businesses to better promote their products by giving them slots on the shelves. This is in particular, businesses that are within the areas of its catchment.
Arinah explained that Singgah has engaged some of the Belait-based entreprenuers for collaborations, looking forward to shelf some of their products in Singgah’s outlet should they meet the requirements – which may include the capability of the products to be produced consistently and the quality of their packaging.
“At the moment, we also want to help these vendors to (sell) their products. Among what we can do is to promote them through our social media networks as well as to bring them in whenever we have (pop-ups and other) events – so they can also familiarise themselves with other entrepreneurs associated with us,” she said.
“At the same time, we also have a local feature at our social media platforms – which is another opportunity for them to showcase their businesses and their products,” she added.
At present, Singgah’s third outlet features a number of local brands including Happy Cream, Hujan, Two Sons, EnEvo, Kachew, bruneihalalfoods, Warisan Maruku and NOICE.
Singgah is also welcoming any interested suppliers and vendors that offers unique or premium products to register. Singgah opens its door daily in the morning from 6.00am until 10.00pm, except for Friday, Singgah is closed for the Friday prayers from 12.00pm to 2.00pm.
To date, Singgah carries about 16 local product vendors. While its branch in Roxana has about eight 8 local product vendors.
Also present at the launching was BSM Managing Director Muhammad Norshafiee bin Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil.
